The water supply source in Huangpu District of Guangzhou City is relatively single, which depends on the water supply outside the district. At the same time, there is no standby water source in the district. There are certain risks to the water supply safety. With the rapid economic and social development of Huangpu District, higher requirements are put forward for the water supply safety of the whole district. It is necessary to take a long-term view, plan ahead, strengthen the risk control of the urban water supply system, and improve the reliability and safety of water supply. Based on the investigation of the current situation of water supply sources in Huangpu District, the current daily water demand in Huangpu District is 882000 m ³/ s. The water source of the Dongjiang River accounts for more than 80%, and there is a threat of salt tide upstream. The water safety guarantee needs to be improved. Focusing on the problems of single water source and shortage of water resources, combined with the basic conditions of the region such as its own geographical location, water resources characteristics, industrial layout, etc., this paper puts forward countermeasures for water diversion outside the region and tapping potential inside the region. The water sources outside the area come from Xijiang, Dongjiang, Beijiang and Liuxi rivers, gradually reducing the proportion of Dongjiang water supply and reducing the water supply risk; A reservoir water plant will be planned in the area, the construction of standby water sources will improve the security of water supply, the allocation and utilization of unconventional water resources will create the "second water source" of the city, relieve the pressure of conventional water resources, form a water supply pattern with multiple basins and water sources, create a comprehensive and three-dimensional water supply security guarantee system, improve the flexibility of the water supply system in the area, and ensure water safety.
