Water bodies are a key element of human environments and pursuing protection of them is a priority.
Hence, in order to integrate environmental
policies and allow for coexistence of socioeconomic issues on a local scale.
A new approach in collaboration between public/public and public/private subjects for the protection and proper use of water bodies is thus necessary.
Also, a new Governance, supported by new legislative instruments is needed.
Allowing for integration of bottom-up policies and the dissemination of a new culture of water and respect for natural resources in implementation of the basic guidelines designed by the Hydrographic District Management Plans, to which they belong.
