Abstract

In this contribution have been approached different lumped models, described in the specialized literature for the study of aquifer discharges,
including a non-linear model proposed by the author. In order to estimate the parameters involved, each model presented has been coupled with the
global search metaheuristic algorithm Cuckoo Search (CS), which generates the initial guess for the local search algorithm FMINCON of MatLab.
Based on real measured data in the aquifer Ciego-Morón were successfully estimated the parameters that characterize aquifer’s decay and recharge
volume due to precipitation. The results were supported by the high correlation between simulations and observations, demonstrating the feasibility
of the approach considered here.
