On June 27th, the XVIII World Water Congress' (hereinafter referred to as the“Congress”) National Organising Committee (NOC) held its second meeting in Beijing, China. Chair of the NOC and Director General at the Department of International Cooperation, Science and Technology of the Ministry of Water Resources of China, Mr. Jin Hai, chaired the meeting. NOC vice chairs, the executive vice chair, members and representatives of tNOC member institutions and the Congress Secretariat (CS) attended the meeting.
The meeting conveyed the spirit of the Minister's special office meeting on the Congress’ preparatory work. The General Water Resources Institute reported the updates and new ideas on the progress of the preparatory work.
The committee acknowledged the recent progress made by the General Institute of Water Resources and Hydropower Planning and Design (GIWP) and urged all constituent units and relevant personnel to fully commit to their responsibilities in order to ensure the success of the Congress. Additionally, the meeting called attention to the Congress promotion, risk prevention and control, and adherence to the bottom line awareness. After the meeting, minutes were formed with a clear division of tasks to ensure the implementation of the forthcoming work.
