Abstract
The study of water bodies is essential for the ecological maintenance of water sources. This will need to be periodically evaluated their physical-chemical aspects, and biogeochemical phytosociological to understand how interventions can be made in dry periods to maintain water supplies for human watering. The drought has made the Garden Creek Dam in the town of Aracatu-Ba-Br, a closed system, with sudden physical and chemical changes, proliferation and decomposition of macrophytes, starting the process of eutrophication. To avoid loss of the spring was thought the mechanical removal of aquatic vegetation, but after evaluation on a pilot project, it was shown that this procedure would be unfeasible due to disastrous consequences to the aquatic environment, the time when it was found that external actions As the recovery of riparian vegetation would mitigate the eutrophication process triggered in the spring.
