IWRA Webinar N°69

Integrated Urban Water Management
24 October - 12:00 PM CET

Background:

Integrated Urban Water Management (IUWM) provides a comprehensive approach to addressing water security challenges in urban environments. With urban populations growing and climate change impacting water resources, cities face increasing pressure to manage water sustainably. The IUWM framework offers solutions by integrating various aspects of water supply, sanitation, drainage, and wastewater management.

The International Water Resources Association (IWRA) and UNESCO International Centre for Water Security and Sustainable Management (i-WSSM) work together on these critical water security issues through the Global Water Security Issues (GWSI) Series project. This webinar will highlight the fourth GWSI publication, titled Water Security and Cities – Integrated Urban Water Management. The publication highlights the importance of this approach in ensuring water security for urban areas. For more information on the project, please click here.

This webinar showcased the IUWM approach, focusing on strategies to enhance resiliency within urban centres. Participants will gain insights into how IUWM can address water security challenges, foster sustainable urban development, and ensure the long-term availability of water resources in cities.
