Abstract

This session explores the Water–Energy–Food (WEF) Nexus through an African lens, bringing together early-career researchers and practitioners working across the continent. It highlights the interconnected nature of water, energy, and food systems and showcases practical, scalable solutions emerging from Africa’s diverse environments. The session begins with an overview of the SustainFood CLS program (Michael Jacobson, 10 min), followed by a presentation highlighting the perspectives, challenges, and impacts of coordinating the CLS in Morocco (Bouthayna El Amine, 10 min). The program then continues with four Early Career Researcher (ECR) presentations, each offering insights on Nexus challenges and innovations across Africa and the USA.
