Abstract

Approach: Aware of the economic and social impacts of natural disasters, the Kingdom has strengthened its policy on natural disaster risk reduction over the past decade. by advocating for reduced vulnerability and strengthened resilience of populations and territories against natural disasters to ensure sustainable development.

The National Strategy for Natural Disaster Risk Management is structured around 3 main objectives:

  • Enhancing risk knowledge and assessment
  • Promoting risk prevention to strengthen resilience
  • Enhancing preparedness for natural disasters to enable rapid recovery and effective reconstruction
