Safe access to water and sanitation is a recognized human right and a key Sustainable Development Goal (SDG)1. Despite this, rural areas still face major challenges in achieving SDG 6, as inadequate services stem from social and behavioral factors as well as infrastructure2. This study assesses water, sanitation, hygiene, and menstrual hygiene (WASH) conditions in a semi-arid rural community using global WASH monitoring indicators and proposes targeted intervention workshops to support progress toward SDG 6.
