Abstract

This study aims to analyze the evolution of vegetation in the MDV using the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI). It investigates the impacts of both surface water from the Mansour Eddahbi Dam (MED Dam) (Fig. 1), which is the main source of irrigation water in the MDV, and groundwater availability on vegetation by examining the correlations between NDVI and the different water sources used for irrigation, namely dam releases, groundwater resources, and precipitation. The study also seeks to anticipate the future of agriculture in the region based on precipitation forecasts.
