Abstract

Conclusions

The Nile Basin, characterized by its complex hydrological system, faces numerous challenges due to the diverse needs and potential development projects in the US reaches.

No direct connection between Ethiopian and the Equatorial Plateau. No harm would result from developments in one basin affecting the other, only Egypt and Sudan that will be impacted.

The potential consequences of unilateral actions/developments includes, reduced water flow, changed flow pattern, ecological degradation, and heightened
tensions, highlight the importance of collaborative decision-making and sustainable management of the Nile water resources.

Consultations and effective negotiations are highly recommended for proposed projects by considering their location, scale, and potential consequences on water resources, ecosystems, and communities.
