Abstract

1) Short Description

Water shortage and contamination require alternative water resources, for which innovative water technologies play a central role, such as membrane technology and advanced oxidation.

2) Objectives

The objectives of the proposed special session are to present and share recent research achievements on innovative water technologies for alternative water resources related to water reuse and desalination with international water professionals.

3) Justifications

The proposed session will cover the needs of water professionals who are interested in advanced water and wastewater technologies that can be utilized for alternative water resources.

4) Projected outcomes

  • To understand the demand of alternative water resources across the globe;
  • To provide recent information on advanced water/wastewater treatment technologies;
  • To find smart solutions for urgent water contamination and disaster

5) Alignment with Congress

This special session focuses more on innovative water/wastewater treatment technologies to produce high
quality of alternative water, which would be fit to the theme of “Adopting smart technologies, policies
and processes” in the Congress.
