Abstract

It describes the instrument of cooperation that Spain and Portugal have given themselves for the management of the shared river basins within the frame of the European Water Policy defined by the Directive 2000/60/CE. It shows the history of the relationships between both countries in the water field, which have been the objectives they had to make a new agreement and, finally, it describes the main aspects of the new Agreement itself.
