Abstract

This study proposes the inclusion of National Parks among the entities in charge of water areas of recharge of springs that are exploited for drinking water supply. Park Authorities might guarantee the conservation of these resources in accordance with the applicable legislation and participate in their management, with benefits for them and for users. The study describes the application of this proposal to the Gran Sasso Park, in Central Italy.
