Abstract

ABSTRACT

In relation to impacts on marine environments, the discharge of domestic sewage water can lead to negative impacts, including the marine biota. Developing countries had the highest rates of pollution and contamination, for not having an efficient and sanitation that meets the entire population. Because they do not have sewage collection networks, they end up being illegally released into storm sewers, through which reach the sea. The building in question consists of 12 floors and 24 apartments, was fined by the competent environmental agency precisely because it is releasing their effluents into the storm water network. To fit the law, the condominium has adopted a single system of treatment and subsequent disposal of septic tank / sink. An analysis of some parameters, among which, ammonia nitrogen, where the effluent treatment showed an even greater than the maximum allowed by CONAMA Resolution 357/2005 In. Was further examined the removal efficiency of the analyzed parameters, namely, content of chloride, nitrite, nitrate, phosphorus, DQO and ammonia nitrogen. The results for DQO were not satisfactory because of problems in collecting the samples.
