Abstract
Considering the need to establish procedures and responsibilities for the strengthening of water control actions regarding the occurrence of cyanobacteria, the present study proposes a plan addressing analyses methods directed at these organisms for the instruction of professionals at the laboratories of regional water quality control units in Brazil (URCQAs/FUNASA). The content will be addressed through classes on theory and practice in the laboratory and field, with the use of audiovisual resources and instructive elements designed by the teacher for the conduction of classroom practices. The training of techniques will be carried out through a 40-hour course at each of the thirteen water quality control units in Brazil. In compliance with the guidelines stipulated in Ministry of Health Ordinance n°518/2004, the aim of the work is to enable technical skills for monitoring water quality with regard to the presence of cyanobacteria.
