Resumo
A utilização de modelos hidrossedimentológicos para aquisição de informações pertinentes ao planejamento e gerenciamento de recursos hídricos é fundamental. Modelos computacionais permitem a grande vantagem do estabelecimento de cenários, sejam realísticos ou não, que resultarão em diferentes respostas dos processos hidrológicos. O modelo hidrossedimentológico SWAT foi utilizando na simulação da bacia hidrográfica do Riacho dos Namorados proporcionando a investigação de quatro diferentes cenários. Os cenários vislumbravam toda a área com a cobertura análoga a caatinga, algaroba, milho e solo exposto. Apresenta-se a simulação do quadro atual, com diversas coberturas do solo e a presença de quatro açudes. A simulação com o modelo SWAT ofereceu resultados coerentes nos processos de escoamento superficial e aporte de sedimentos, assegurando a sua eficiência e enaltecendo a importância do estudo de cenários nos processos decisórios. .
Abstract
The use of hydrosedimentological models for the acquisition of relevant information for planning and management of water resources is of great practical value. Computational models permit the simulation of scenarios, that may be real or hypothetical, and generate responses of the hydrological processes. The hydrosedimentological model SWAT was used in the simulation of four different scenarios other than the one of actyal use, in the “Riacho dos Namorados” watershed, located in the semi-arid region of Paraiba. The scenarios envisioned considering the entire basin area subject to different usages, namely, the native vegetation “ Caatinga”, reforestation with “algarroba”(mesquite), cultivation of corn and and bare soil. The results have been compared in terms of runoff generation and soil erosion among each other and with the actual situation in the basin of diverse soil uses and the presence of four storage dams. The simulation with the model SWAT provided consistent results in runoff and soil erosion, ensuring its utility for the simulation of scenarios to help in the decision making process. .
