Abstract:
The influence of human activities on erosion processes can be 100 times more significant that would be considering only the influence of geological features. Therefore, know and interpret the sediment transport dynamics and deposition is one of the ways to improve development practices, conservation and management of water resources. This paper aims to present partial results of an evaluation project of sedimentation rates on Cruzes river, a tributary of the right bank of the Três Irmãos reservoir , on the Water Resources Management Unit of Baixo Tietê (SP), using temporal integration traps, also known as sedimentation chambers. The preliminary result shows a sedimentation rate about 1.34 mg.cm-2 .dia-1 .
