The inspection of water resources usage by the National Agency of Water is an activity that may be defined as the command and control of the National Politic of Water Resources, aiming the guarantee of multiple uses of this resource. In the year 2010, efforts were directed to the restructuration of the water resources surveillance activity inside the National Agency of Water by the creation of new legal resolutions defining federal water resources supervision. In 32 field campaigns developed for monitoring the use of water resources held in 2010, 81% of users reported in irregular situations changed their status to regular. In the last 10 years of ANA inspections activities, restructuring and improvement of working methods stand out, ensuring the surveillance of Brazilian water resources.
