Abstract

ABSTRACT

The Watershed Hydropower Inventory Study is a planning tool of the Electric Sector for defining the energy potential of a particular river or river basin. This article arose from the need to evaluate the capacity factors based on the hydrology of sites with energetic potential. In more regulated hydrology this potential is lower than in those with typical hydrology, while less regulated hydrology presents higher values. This way such atypical hydrology require corrections. It should be noted that the proposed analysis has orientative character in the initial evaluation of the energy dimensioning criterion in the planning phase of inventory studies based on the specific characteristics of the watershed under study. Other criteria such as the need to serve the local market, among others, may influence the criterion definition for dimensioning the Potential Hydroeletric object of hydroelectric inventory studies, and should be considered.
