Abstract

ABSTRACT:

Located in Aquífero Urucuia, the region of the watershed of Rio de Ondas, located to the west of the State of Bahia, is economically polarized by their municipalities and undergoes a dynamic process of transformation. This phenomenon is driven mainly by a system of agricultural production of high technological level, irrigated agriculture as a means of producing large scale. However, some areas have great potential in hydropower and tourism. Human activities undertaken in the riverbed also include domestic sewage discharge upstream of the collection of drinking water and deforestation along the banks of the course with human occupation of recreational character, resulting in pollution of water extracted for the supply downtown. This work aimed to verify the quality of water from the water standards set forth in “potabilizável” Ordinance No. 36, of January 1, 1990.
