The unbridled use of this water resourse raises concern about the environmental quality of this water, and its possible risks to the health of the population that uses it. This study aimed to characterize the Guajará Bay’s water, through the Water Quality Index (WQI), created by National Sanitation Foundation (NSF). This index converts the concentration data for nine analytes into one of five water quality classes, ranging from “very bad" to “excellent". Based on the WQI values, water quality typically was in the good range. Wich means. However, it’s important to make an deeper study in the area.
