The Executive Board of the International Water Resources Association (IWRA) is pleased to announce that Ignacio Deregibus has been appointed as IWRA’s Executive Director, effective March 1, 2025. He succeeds Callum Clench, who stepped down in October 2024.
Since joining the IWRA Executive Office in 2016, Ignacio has served in multiple roles, including Communications and Outreach Officer (2016–2021), Deputy Executive Director (2021–mid 2024), and most recently, Acting Executive Director. His extensive experience with IWRA’s mission, activities, partners, and membership makes him well-positioned to lead the Association in its efforts to bridge science, policy, and practice to achieve water security.
