The nomination period for candidates for the upcoming IWRA Executive Board elections (2025-2027), is officially open!
Members of the IWRA community have the opportunity to nominate esteemed colleagues or even consider self-nomination. The nomination window is open until Wednesday, July 31st, 2024.
Positions Available
Eligibility for Nomination
The positions available on the Board are:
- 1 member for President;
- 3 members for Vice-Presidents;
- 1 member for Secretary Generall
- 1 member for Treasurer (must be from the United States);
- 1 member for Membership Committee Chair;
- 1 member for Awards Committee Chair;
- 1 member for Scientific, Technical & Publications Committee Chair;
- 10 members for Directors.
Please note that, as per IWRA Bylaws, geographical diversity is crucial, with the President and Vice-Presidents required to represent different regions. Additionally, no more than three members from any single country can be elected simultaneously. IWRA is committed to enhancing diversity, and in particular, welcomes nominations of women and young professionals.
To be considered, nominees must:
- Have paid their membership fees by the end of the nomination period and ensure validity for the October elections;
- Be willing to serve if elected;
- Run for only one position;
- Not have held the same position in the 2019-2021 and 2022-2024 Boards;
- Not hold positions in conflicting organisations.
The list of nominated candidates will be published on IWRA’s website and social media channels by the end of August this. The online ballot to vote these candidates will be held in October 2024.
