A special issue of Water International is being planned for publication in November 2021 on the 50th anniversary of the founding of the International Water Resources Association.
We were seeking proposals for manuscripts that took a look towards the next 50 years (or the foreseeable future), especially those that apply critical thinking to conventional wisdoms or provide novel perspectives on critical trends, possibilities, and obstacles that lie ahead and that will affect or be affected by water management. This can include the role the IWRA itself can play, and the future of professional communication, including journals such as Water International.
Next Steps
We requested to send an abstract of 500-1000 words, to Water International Editor-in-Chief at editor@iwra.org, before December 31, 2020.
The manuscripts were reviewed, and a response was given to the proposer(s) by January 15, 2021.
The final manuscript, due April 30, 2021, should be 5,000-9,000 words, including references, or equivalent after consideration is made for tables, figures and other non-text material.
