AbstractAbstract Development in the new reclaimed regions needs sustainable water resources. The quality and quantity of water in these areas must be preserved from the negative impacts of climate. The aim of this research is to study the effect of climatic parameters such as wind speed, temperature, and relative humidity on the movements of sand dunes which deteriorate open channels and surface water in North Sinai region. To carry out this study many metrological stations, gauge staffs, and sand traps were constructed and fixed in the study area. Daily and monthly metrological and field data were collected during one year. The data were analyzed and the results showed the dangerous effect of sand dune movements on surface water in North Sinai region. The recommendations of this study demonstrated the suitable solution to mitigate the effect of sand dune movements on surface water resources in North Sinai region.
