AbstractAbstract

According to ICZM protocol (or Madrid protocol 2008), Algeria has initiated a process to develop a national strategy. This initiative is part of a dynamic to facilitate the sustainable development of coastal zones in respect of environmental balance and by rational planning of activities.

On the basis of diagnosis and analysis of the current situation and future projections, as well as constraints and pressures on coastal aquifers, our contribution to the national strategy sets objectives, determines priorities, and identifies aquifers requiring special management and lists actions and institutional instruments and legal and financial means to implement.
