Special issues: Water, Food and Poverty in River Basins (Part 1 & 2)

A special double issue of Water International edited by Simon Cook and Myles Fisher presenting the results of the studies of 10 megabasins of the Challenge Program on Water and Food (CPWF) - Basin Focal Projects (BFP) of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR).
The first part, appearing as a jumbo September 2010 issue (Vol. 35 - No. 5), presented extensive overviews of findings in nine of the basins.
The second, which appears as the January 2011 issue (Vol. 36 - No. 1), presents cross-cutting themes and analyses based on the 10 basins. Topics include: water productivity; resilience; climate change; water availability and use; and linkages between poverty, agriculture and water use in the basins.
The information in these two issues help us understand the range of experiences of water use at a basin level, and both what we can know from comparing them and where the limitations are given the current state of knowledge.
